Baskerville RAAC Update – April 2024

Dear Parent/Guardian,

We hope this message finds you well.
We wanted to take a moment to provide you with a couple of updates on Baskerville developments regarding RAAC.

Windsor Academy - KS4 & KS5
Windsor Academy is currently making adjustments to our section of their building, to ensure the safety of our students such as specialist doors that can be accessed by our staff only, break-out spaces and ICT infrastructure.
We are waiting for more information from Windsor regarding timelines, however, we are hopeful that the majority of the work will be complete after half term so we can visit the school. We will provide a schedule for parent tours and transition days, once we have a definitive date.
P16 Transport - 2024 - 2026.
The Department for Education is committed to supporting the Local Authority with school’s transport for all students attending Windsor Academy, this includes our Post 16 students.
We have collaborated with Travel Assist by providing student information pertinent to their travel arrangements. We have also asked the Local Authority to provide more details to Governors about transport arrangements at the earliest time.
Portacabin
The construction of the portacabins has commenced on the school site. The works are on track and should be completed before the end of the summer term. The portacabins will provide much needed facilities and working space for our students in the new academic year. To drive an aspirational, inclusive, enriched educational provision, to prepare students with the skills for a fulfilled life. Together Aspire, Together Achieve

School Rebuilding Programme
The first rebuilding project meeting happened today (17/4/24) with senior leaders, Department for Education and Local Authority representatives. The feasibility study has commenced, and groundwork surveys are scheduled to begin next month. The school is a priority for the Department of Education and professionals are working quickly to deliver the project in the stated timescale.
We remain committed to fostering a supportive and nurturing environment where our students can flourish. We are excited about the possibilities that lie ahead and are grateful for your support.
If you have any questions or queries and would like further information, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Warm regards,
Wayne Tulloch
